Limited Speed 2-wheelers - aka scooters - are NOT allowed on the freeway. If you can't do 60km/h, you've got no right to be on that road.
So what do I see in the driving rain 2 days ago? On the access from McGill to the #1 northbound (onto the 2nd narrows bridge) - in the right-side lane - a full fuel tanker truck - in the passing lane - a scooter doing 45km/h leading 8 cars riding beside the tanker truck fully tucked in and with the poor little thing wide open.
What an asshole. As we came around the corner in this formation (I was tail-end charlie and very pissed off) the truck signaled because his lane was ending and while the evil side of my brain was hoping he'd just shrug the scooter clear off the road, he was nice enough to let the scooter pass first.
So instead of coming onto the bridge at the speed limit (70km/h I believe) the whole mass of vehicles hit the bridge at around 50km/h and then proceeded to sort into different lanes - not the safest way to enter traffic from my perspective - it looked like the running of the bulls.
Scooter boy was all decked out in sporty rain gear doing his best tuck position and I really felt like decking him. Karma and generally stupid driving will most likely take care of the problem though - why would anyone risk their lives in such a stupid fashion?
