Not even 5 mins after taking her out of storage I laid her down. I was riding south on Hemlock and there was a van stopped at the cross street up ahead going straight. Seeing as he was stopped I thought he saw me and he was going me the right of way but as I approached the cross street he started to move forward. At that point I knew he either didn't see me or decided to be a dick so it was either slam into the side of his van or hit the brakes. Once I hit the brakes the wheels locked up and the bike went down sliding a couple feet with me right behind it.
A couple driving by stopped and gave me a hand picking the bike up and a lady that saw the whole thing gave me her number. After I exchanged information with the guy in the van he started telling me that it was my fault because I was speeding but he would pay for all the repairs. I decided not to call the police because I was physically fine, there was no damage to the van and the bike was still somewhat ridable aside from a couple hanging parts. After everything was said and done I took it back to the dealership since it was a block away and filed a claim with ICBC.
Anyways I was just wondering how ICBC will treat this type of thing.
Some pics of the damage. (Sorry about the quality.)
