RCMP news release:
FATAL MOTORCYCLE COLLISION
On March 11, 2007 at approximately 10:00 AM the Langley RCMP responded to a Fatal Motorcycle collision on 62 Ave near 205 Street. The police investigation revealed that a motorcyclist drove his motorcycle into a legally parked tractor trailer. The collision took place during heavy rain and the motorcyclist ended up dead on impact under the trailer, collapsing it, and a diesel fuel tank which runs the reefer caught fire. The fire burned the deceased rider, his motorcycle and a part of the trailer which was partially loaded with cartons of an epoxy type material. This burning epoxy was quite toxic so the HAZMAT team attended and the rest of the cargo was unloaded immediately. The rider is believed to be a 44-year-old Langley man and his name won’t be released until he has positively been identified as well as the notification of next of kin has been done.
