Well I'm looking at the new hjc carbon fiber helmet and i was just wondering what you guy's opinions on it? I mostely want to get it due to the pinlock system and light weight.
I have a Scorpion exo700 (fiberglass, and crappy anti fog coating)
I ordered one Dec 05 and received it Feb 06.
Very happy with it, I took a fall last year that totaled the FJR.
Planning to buy another for this season.
The question is not what you look at...but what you see...

I picked one up after advice from Mark. I like it. The weight saving is incredible. Every other helmet feels crazy heavy now after wearing this lid for a season.
My complains are that it's not very aerodynamic when you turn your head to shoulder check and the visor is clunky compared to Shoei's I've owned. The visor doesn't seal 100% when closed. I've had issues with water getting inside the visor when riding in the rain.
But the quality of the finish to the helmet is really top rate. But the quality of the rest of the helmet is pretty standard HJC.
My bike is so much faster than yours that I dare you to ride it, you lame little turd. Do you have the balls to ride this BOTTOMLESS PIT OF TORQUE?

Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

I tired on the AC-12 carbon, right after a Arai Quantum and I felt the HJC was nicer. Thinking about it for my next lid.
The HJC AC-12 carbon is meant for those with more of an oval head (from front to back) though. My round noggin didn't fit at all.
Here is a Bike World review on it:
I ride; therefore I am.
anyone knows if this is available in any of the stores here?
hmmmm way out in port moody.... good looking helmet though
Northshore Yamaha/Suzuki has them, Bby Kawasaki has them, and I think I saw one at Pacific Yamaha/BMW too.

damn i don't want HJC. when is the Arai carbon fiber gonna come out?!!!
I'm pretty sure I've seen it at Imperial too. It's a nice looking helmet.
btw, shoei's also accept the pinlock system, but you have to by the sheild with the pin's as extra since it doesn't come with it off the shelf. RF1000's are extremely light, but probably about twice the cost. I'd really like to try the pinlock system. I can fog just about any helmet. I'm not fond of the foggy face mask i have due to the way if feels on my nose. The FogCity insert is nice.. the Progrip insert is crap. I find that the breath gaurd you can get for the shoei's helps alot with fogging as long as it's above about 8 degrees or so.
Ok.... did some research on this one..... and damn you PhantomCBR for posting this up.... now it is going to cost me $600+tax for viewing this thread.
PacYam has the sm, medium and large (I think). Carter doesn't have any.
So I special ordered mine through Carter ($499), plus the pinlock visor ($34.99) and the pinlock insert ($34.99).
Now I've tried fogcity on all my visors thinking they were the shitz, but after going through at least half a dozen of them on various visors the film on the insert would come off from soap and water leaving a large blemish on the insert maring the transparency.
I am hoping that the pinlock system might be better as the visors do fit my current helmet HJC CL-SP. If the carbon fiber one turns out to be something that I must have...... after seeing it.... well.....
