Had some serious trouble tonight both on the number 1 and on my way back across the potello.
First off, its an 89 CBR400RR.
I'm riding west bound on number one just comming up to brunette exit, doing around 90kph when my bike starts to loose power. i'll twist the throttle and get this HUGE lag before getting any responce, and then it was very laboured. If i pulled the clutch in, it would be smoother, but still very laboured and sputtery. the pitch of the engine was alot deeper then it should be. eventually the bike stalled and it wouldnt restart while moving, so i pulled off to the side of the highway.
It was as if i ran out of gas, but i had plenty in the tank, and just incase i turned the fuel knob to reserve, which didnt do anything. Nothing felt hotter then it usually do and i couldnt really spot any obvious problem. I tried the ignition a few time, and if it started, it would be difficult to keep it going untill it would stall out again. Id have the clutch in and the trottle wide open, and it would be very laboured, low revving. After a few minutes, it started up no problem and the throttle responce was normal. So i got going with no more problems.
The exact same thing happened on my way home on the surrey side of potello.
Could really use some help on this one.
My thoughts are on the fuel pump or filter or something along those lines, just felt like it suddenly was starved gas. But i havent any real idea about it yet.
Thanks for any help
