    The problem and the solution could indeed be useless, but the process might not be.

    It's amazing how different scientific discoveries pick up from other seemingly unrelated things.

    In the case of some types of cancer, the solution is also a mathematical and distributed computational problem. So, I don't think it is a stretch that these findings could make their way into other research.

    Who would have thought that something like mathematical game theory would spread to other fields like sociology and economics?
