2006 Kawasaki Ninja 650 - Perfect 1st bike for anyone
This was my first street-bike, I would love to keep it but I have another lady in my life now and can't afford to insure both. 2006 Ninja 650, parallel twin that is similar to the SV650 in performance. Despite the looks this is very much a standard, and a perfect learner bike for anyone - very light and narrow. This is the all silver with champagne frame, much nicer colour scheme than the ones the US had to choose from.
It has a Leo-Vince aluminum pipe on it, the sound is outrageous and turns a lot of heads. I have mirror extenders as well as Hot-Grips on it, where I live they are not an option. The only other mod to the bike is SS lines on the front and EBC-HH pads on the front that still have a lot of meat on them. The front tire is a stock BT-020 that is still in surprisingly good shape, and there is a power pilot on the back that only has about 1000km on it so far (wow, awesome tire)
17,000km on the clock, meticulously looked after and never dropped at any speed. Kept in it's own little house, never stored outside. Regular oil changes and it has purred like a kitten for me.
The only blemish on the bike is a very small crack hidden up inside one of the vents on the fairing - the exact height of a propane forklift bumper. This was on there when I received it shipped from Blackfoot, and although the baking soda / crazy glue job I did on the inside didn't hold it has never spread. You can't see it and it has never bothered me.
I'm asking $6000 firm for this bike, the only catch being I live in Houston BC so dropping by to look at it would be a problem for most people. However, if you are interested it isn't a big deal to work something out for getting it from point A to B. With the pipe the specs are about 72hp/48ftlb.s on similar bikes out there - very snappy and a comfortable long distance tourer or Kaslo-rat. I would throw in the tank bag that fits it so well...
