I'm 36, 5'2 and just started school last night. I have always wanted a Ninja and have a new 250 on hold with a dealership.
Anyway, a couple of guys (one owns 8 bikes, BMW's and a Ducati) at work are giving me a ton of flack about my choice to purchase a Ninja. They say get a classic for a couple years, learn to ride, then see if I still want a sport bike. In school I'll be using a Maurader. My instructor says wait until I am done the course to decide.
I have always wanted a Ninja, and am happy to have found one I can touch the ground on, as that was always my worry. I know that wanting to learn/own a bike is something I have always wanted (I grew up playing with all kinds of motorsports but have always been a passenger on a bike), and as much as I respect the classic style and there are some beautiful machines out there, they have never interested me the way a nice sport machine does.
So I guess I am looking for support from the gals out there who jumped on a sport bike right from the get-go and never looked back. Also, if there is anyone who in their opinion believes it is better to learn from a classic and move on to a sport bike after that I would love to hear your side as well.
