I'm new to the board. I heard about you through CanadianGunNutz.com and was hoping you could help me out.
I have to go do my Class 6 "Skills" test on Friday morning and I'm looking for some insight as to what the test involves.
I've been riding a bike since I was a kid so I'm pretty sure it's going to be a Joke but I don't want to get nailed on a whole pile of little details that boil down to the Examiners personal preference.
What does the test cover? Is there little crap like having to put ONLY one foot or the other down when you come to a stop and stuff?
I tried reading the ICBC book but I got sick of it Recomending I check the motorcycles owners manual on putting the kickstand down. That and all the other stupid shit that is a complete waste of my time.
Anyway, if you could help me out I'd appreciate it.
Alrighty, That Skills Test was EASY Figured I'd make a picture and post info for everyone's bennefit:
Alrighty, So you start at the green dot with the engine off. You walk the bike down the white line and stop at the green/red circle. Here you walk the bike in a half circle with the bars in the Full Lock position. You stop at the next Green/red circle and the guy sets up the cones for the U-turn. You walk the bike back down the green line to the start.
Next, Start the bike and ride down the white line at walking pace. Here they're checking your use of the clutch. You stop at the blue/red circle. Next you do a u-turn and go right into the slalom and stop at the next blue/red dot. The guy tells ya to position the bike between the two cones faceing the starting point.
Now you do a "tight" left turn at walking pace and go all the way back down the white line and stop at the blue/red dot. Then you do the U-turn again, go into the slalom and stop at the next blue/red dot.
Now you follow the yellow path and the guy posisitions you faceing the other way between the two cones. Now you do the "Tight" Righ hand turn and Accelerate down to the end at between 20-30kph. After you get all the way around the bend you accellerate to 20-30kph again twards the instructor (Who had is hand up) and when he drops his arm you stop as quickly as possible without skidding! (That's the red line with the big red dot)
That's it! That's all there is to the Skills test Hope this is helpful.
This is How they did it for me in Kelowna. I'm assuming it's the same through out B.C. but don't take my word for it.
