this is what i want to do.
i am going to be building an entertainment stand that is going to house all my equipment, game consoles, amps, dvd player etc.
and what i want to do is mount a pc fan on some of these devices, especially my shaw pvr which gets damn hot.
right now i am using an everyday 8" house fan you would use to cool a small room down, and what i want to do is wire up some pc fans to these devices.
ive been searching on ebay for usb cooling fans, and basically these folks just splice the wires together into a dc/ac power source like a cell phone charger.
i dont know much about it, i tried searching the net but did not find my answer.
so the question is, i just hook up negative and positive from the cell phone wall charger into a pc cooling case fan and solider it or splice it together with beans?
my concern is i dont know the danger/ problems that can occur with the voltage of say my cell phone charger and the voltage the fan needs.
i've heard the voltage has to match or be damn close and the amps dont matter, as long as the amps on the charger match or exceed what the pc fan draws out.
