I received a new Toshiba Satellite A100 from London Drugs some time in late May or early June 2006 as part of an insurance claim.
About 6 months after getting the Toshiba Salilite A100, the keyboard stopped working altogether, however the touch-pad and touch-pad buttons continued to work. I assumed a reinstall with the Product Recovery DVD-ROM would fix things, however I became quite busy with work and did not get around to it until today.
The Product Recovery DVD-ROM will not load as it requires that the F12 button be pressed during power up, and there is no other way (that I know of) to boot the DVD-ROM. The problem now is that I cannot load the Product Recovery DVD-ROM, and it may be that the keyboard is indeed the problem.
I have contacted London Drugs but have not heard back as of yet.
I’ve been a long time loyal customer of both London Drugs and my Insurance company but at this stage I am not sure about warranty, Toshiba support or possible ways to boot the Product Recovery DVD-ROM. Maybe the keyboard driver crashed somehow? Any thoughts?
