Back by popular demand, I'm putting together another Cascades ride to Winthrop, WA. We'll be taking HWY 20 in Washington which is in my opinion the best ride in the Pacific Northwest. This'll be an overnighter in the ol' timey western themed town of Winthrop in the Okanagan Valley.
Date: Saturday, June 23rd @ 9AM
Where: 232nd St exit Chevron off the HWY 1 at 23182 72 Avenue, Langley: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...7&z=18&iwloc=G
Where to: Winthrop, WA for good times, hot tubbing and getting your drink on. The ride back will be either back on HWY 20 or maybe Manning Park via Osoyoos if we feel like it.
Route: Sumas crossing in Abbotsford via HWY 9 (detour to 542 by the Nooksack River) to Sedro-Woolley. From Sedro-Woolley we take the South Skagit Highway towards Marblemount and then HWY 20 to Winthrop. Total riding time from Sumas about 5 hours.
Pace: As always, your own. Since this is a longer-ish ride, I'll ask that everyone 'buddy up' on this one. We'll separate into smaller groups of experience levels if a lot of people show up for this one. I'll provide a printed map of the route with rally points so everyone's familiar with the route and no one gets lost.
Where We Staying: Once I get some feedback as to who's coming on this ride, I'll post up a hotel suggestion. If enough peeps post up in the next few days, I'll try and get a group rate at a decent hotel with a pool.
Those of you who've ridden on my rides before know that I organize safe and enjoyable rides with no pressure to ride outside your limits.
So post up if you're 'bout it 'bout it!
