Due to the burns ride same day and the fact this should be an overnighter trip, I will organize this on a weekend coming up in the near future. Sorry folks.
***experienced riders only please*** Don't get me wrong, newbs are welcome but you'll have to keep up to make the ferry and you'll need a hard a$$. 14-16hr day 826kms Pace will be moderate. Trying to avoid double-yellow passing action. Bring your camera. Passport or appropriate ID for the border. If you will be late we will fill up with gas at the Chevron just across the border on the left hand side.
As the thread says, ride around the Olympic Penninsula. We'll be crossing the border at the 176st truck crossing early AM - meet at the corner store at the 176st/8th Ave, on the south/east corner of the intersection. 6:15am Sharp!
We need to be on the 8:45am ferry from Fort Keystone. That means to be safe leaving 2hrs from the border crossing.
Get on the I5 for a short jaunt just past Bellingham, take hwy 20 west to Whitby Island and to Fort Keystone . Then take a ferry from Fort Keystone to Port Townsend ($4.75usd you & the bike each way - last time I checked). From Port Townsend we will be traveling due west to Port Angeles and beyond ending up in Ocean Shores. Then inland through Shelton to Port Townsend and back on the ferry.

There is also a 5:15pm ferry so depends how fast we get back after the loop.
Like I said, suggestions/questions welcome. This will be a similar day to the long Kitsap rides so be prepared. Bring extra clothing layers. Don't forget your clear visor for the early AM and evening. Tinted visor or sunglasses during the day. Some snack bars, drinks, etc. We'll be looking for fuel after each section as listed above. Before the weekend I will look into each small town on the net for fuel.
