Well, I was out for a short ride tonight, and when I went to park the bike, I was backing it in with the engine off, and I could hear a noise. Hmmm, how to describe it... Kind of like a stick/slip sort of noise, if that makes sense. It's coming from the rear, I put the bike up on a rear stand and rotated the wheel by hand. It only does it when you rotate it slowly. If you do it fast enough, there is no noise. Kind of sounds like it's from the rear axle, maybe a lack of lubrication somewhere?
The bike is an '05 600RR, with 38,000kms. I just lubed the chain (new chain, by the way) this afternoon, and I didn't notice the noise then. Maybe it's nothing, but I get a little uneasy when my bike makes funny noises. Anyone have any ideas what it could be?
