i have a piece of perferated stainless already rolled into the baffle size and length. used to be in a muffler on a bike i was building but never got finished. you can have it. zaust packing can be gotten at any bike shop. prolly have to order it in but it comes ready to go. rivets can be gotten at Can Tire or Wal-Mart or Lordco or or or or.

    04 Kawi Z1000,
You'll also need some stainless sheet to cut the end caps from unless you're going to weld it to the existing end cap. You'll still need one for the inner flange to support and contain the baffle wool.

The wool is available form most parts shops. I know for a fact that 5thGear, Imperial and Burnaby Kawi all either have it in stock or can get it within a day or two. The two most common brands of the same stuff are Moose and Yoshimura. Get the Yosh packing. It's the same stuff but you get almost twice as much for the same price.

Pack it firmly but don't ram it like you're packing a fence post.

Sorry For the late reply guys, I was out of town for a few days.

    Hi Purple Kawi,

What's the size of the SS tube you've got? The required dimensions I need are 2.5" dia x 20" length and I need 2 of these. I'll be coring 2 OEM exhaust pipes.

At least the Exhaust Packing and Rivets are not hard to find. The SS perforated tube is a little bit of a challenge. Been calling some metal shops if they have these type of tube.

Can you guys point me to the right direction on where to find the tubes locally?

    Thanks for any info

    Cheers

i'd have to measure mine but i'm pretty sure it's 2" around but only 18" long. it's double layered so you could take it apart and use a piece for each muffler.
