Toronto - The southbound right lane on Yonge Street and a portion of Charles Street remains closed, following a motorcycle accident Wednesday afternoon.
The incident occurred just before 3 p.m. when a motorcycle was being unloaded from a pickup truck on Charles Street.
Moments later, after the rider started the engine, the driver of the bike sped away across the sidewalk, 20 metres away, and hit three pedestrians.
Two of those pedestrians on the sidewalk, who are believed to be senior citizens, were seriously injured, along with the driver of the bike, who witnesses said was not wearing a helmet.
All are expected to survive.
Shortly after the incident, police completely shut down Yonge Street, between Bloor and Wellesley streets.
There is still no word if any charges will be laid.
