The nerve of these farkers!
If you dont want to read all of this.. just read the bold print.
I went to a dealer that mainly sells a certain brand of bikes, i thought they'd be experts of what i needed.
I went in to get a 3 dollar part from a local dealer (no names mentioned). They look on the fiche and saw the part but no number beside it. They do a search with their inventory on hand but couldnt match up the part. I asked them to find out who sells this part. The part was a mikuni product so it should have been easy to find. The sales guy then tells me he doesnt have time to search for the product and my 3 dollar business was not worth it. He tells me to pay him $20 just to do research on the product, and wants me to leave it as a deposit!
As all this was happening, a call came in to the shop. It was an customer asking him when his bike will be ready for p/u, he was just getting an oil change, the sales guy told him " i cant give you an answer, some times 2 hour jobs take 4 hours.. blah blah blah" the guy asked if the bike would be done tht day, the sales guy "i dont know, i dont have time to explain to you how the motorcycle business works". i couldnt belive my ears!! the conversation ended by the sales guy saying "we are open till 5:30 if you want to pick up your bike".
And again as im still dumfounded by what the sales guy says to me. He helps out the customer that was standing behind me. He needed a key cut. The customer called before he came down and asked if he needed to bring anything to the shop, the sales guy said "no". The customer didnt bring anything to the shop that could be used to make another copy of a key. the sales guy goes on to explain how house door locks work and blah blah blah and made the customer feel like an idiot. The sales guy didnt even tell the customer how to rectify his problem, even i knew the answer that most other shops would have given him... go to key-west.
Anyways as for myself i went back to my old trusty dealership (carter on granville island) and Laurie and Rosalee found what i needed in less than 5 min and i got it in 2 days for $2.50. "thanks guys"
As for the motorcycle shop that i went to, they let me down long time ago and i thought i might give them another shot but was let down again. I dont know how they stay in business, i think they feed off of noobs or people that dont know anything about the motorcycle industry.
sorry for the long post.
