I just wanted to give people something to think about when taking a passenger or becoming a passenger.
You should only learn to double when you as a rider feel that you have the experience and comfort level to take a passenger. As the rider you should feel confident that you are a strong and safe rider. You are the rider and YOU are in control of the bike.
The passenger is 100% your responsibility on a ride. It is your job to make sure that they feel safe and comfortable being on your bike. There is nothing worse then a scared passenger. You never know how they might react and throw off the bike. As the rider you should know your passenger and that they trust you with their life. With that you need to take into consideration what speed they are willing to go at as well as your destination. It is also your responsibility to make sure that you get your passenger home safe unless agreed upon otherwise by both of you without dispute.
Feel free to have rules for both rider and passenger as to what to and not to do. Also you should discuss with them at check points to make sure that you are both still comfortable, So that you can talk about what you both need from each other.
The bottom line is that you should have trust in each other and that should not be jeopardize in any way shape or form.
