Did anyone see the well planned and extensively documented presentation on how Loud Pipes save lives last night on News Hour Final?
Ok I am convinced now
Earlier this year BCCOM warned us of the consequences of a Loud Pipe crackdown,
" Before you think it only applies to the “Loud Pipes Save Lives” advocates
please be aware that many bikes including Hondas and Yamahas that are stock are failing the hand held decibel meter test in the City of Vancouver. At present in Canada motorcyclists are left to be subjected to a test that has no standard."
Here is part of the transcript from last night's News Hour presentation
Last nights death toll in the Lower Mainland increased by 117 due to the absence of life saving loud piped bikes cruising residential neighbourhoods in the wee hours.
Marfiny Snodgrass and her family were the only surviors on one Vancouver West End Street.
Marfiny described the horror she and her family encountered when they returned home.
"It was so quiet, at first we thought everyone was sleeping but then we realized that was not possible - we live in the West End.
Clyd, my husband called 911 but the 911 operator told us that all the police were out enforcing noise bylaws against motorcyclists and couldn't respond to our call.
It was then that I knew what happened. I went next door to see if our elderly neighbours the Hizbolnots were ok,,, (sobs ).... they were dead,
Clyd and I ran to check on the rest of our neighbours and they were all dead.
I ran out into the street and an older biker with a small penis was walking towards me with tears running down his face...he looked at me and cried out that it was all his fault ..all my neighbours were dead because his loud bike - a bike that was later confirmed as a proven life saver by local motorcycle organizations, had been impounded by the VPD.
It is like this all over the lower mainland as the death toll continues to rise. Without motorcycles and their loud pipes covering the city with their protective cloak of live saving magic; the stench of death is everywhere
Highly regarded motorcycle groups are speaking out against this "legislated death" descending on all of us.
Spokespeople from Rumblin' V-Twin News were too dazed to respond to our calls.
One of our reporters tried to talk streetside to a motorcyclist on a stock pipe equipped bike. The rider cackled at our reporter "You will be dead by nightfall, as his motorcycle quietly rolled away"
A spokesperson for a downtown Hospital gave a brief statement.
"Early tests seem to prove that many of the unexplained deaths we have seen tonight are likely as a result of the loss of loud piped bikes out saving lives in the community. These bikers were saints said the spokesperson, likening their good work to being similar to that of the late, great Mother Theresa.
Vancouver City Council frozen with fear retreated into their chambers where "the Wild Ones" is being played at 110 decibels.
As dawn comes over the city rebel groups could be seen fighting for their lives, barracading themselves into coffee guarding the few remaining loud piped bikes and hopefully providing some safety for the survivors.
