Yesterday, Hwy #1 westbound, approaching the area of the bridge (but not yet around the corner and down the hill quite yet)... coming up on traffic, just begin slowing down from hwy speed (cruising in 6th gear).... right lane is backed up, I'm in the fast lane slowing down as I approach the 'wall' of traffic in my lane...suddenly and without warning (no signal, of course) some asshole jumps out from the right lane into the left to 'get ahead' maybe 6-8 car lengths....cuts me off hardcore, so I have to emergency brake... no problem.... clutch in, brake hard, and downshift aggressively to avoid any contact... come to a safe stop behind him, swearing like a sailor of course... then when traffic moves again, I let out the clutch...WHAM.. bike stalls (I've never stalled it before, wtf)... clutch in to find neutral so I can restart it.... but the damn thing won't shift into neutral...infact, it won't shift at all! It's totally stuck/seized in gear, can't start it at all, can only push it off to the side of the road and wait to be rescued.
The timing of this sucks, had a road trip planned to leave...TONIGHT. Guess that ain't happening now. FUUUUUUUUUCK the timing is just preposterous!
Apparently item #24 is the most likely suspect in this...shitty thing is it's not a quick (or presumably cheap) fix, since the case has to be split now... sure wish I had noted the plate # of the cutoff culprit, I could spend my now bountiful free time tracking him down :P
