To start off, i'm very knowledgable and mechanically oriented... this is just beyond me right now.
I've got an 03 R6 and just as of this year I have had some really bizarre problems. I've had the bike since brand new.
I changed from a BMC street filter back to a stock filter, -1 / +2 gear change and installed a speedo healer (still not calibrated) . These were the only changes made over the winter.
When coming to a stop, clutch in, the RPM will drop to 500 or lower and sometimes stall out. This is very sporadic and doesn't happen all the time. I have set the idle screw a few times over the last few rides (1300 RPM +/-) and minimized this problem. I am also noticing a 13000 rpm and higher stumble in all gears. It feels like im' hitting the rev limiter on and off.
After being fed up with all this, I changed the spark plugs, put di-electric grease on all the electrical connections for the ignition and fuel pump wiring. After this the bike ran like brand new, no stalling no stumble, she pulled to redline. The bike then sat for a few weeks when we had some crappy weather.
The bike is also throwing the odd code 14 which is intake air pressure line
problem, yet everything is hooked up right with no kinks.
Is this all related to water in my fuel system? I have been through 5 tanks and still nothing is better... any ideas?
When I did the plugs and stuff the tank was tilted up for a week or so, maybe mixing the gas better hence the good running for a while???
