Gathering up CBR125s for a ride to Merritt. Won't discriminate against other bikes, but keep in mind that we can't go faster than 120, and possibly won't even go that fast. This will be a relaxed, enjoy-the-scenery type of ride. The goal is to see some good sights, put some mileage on our spankin' 125s, and come back without any unpleasant adventures.
No stupid stuff, but please be comfortable going 120 on the highway (if we need to).
The route is as follows:
Vancouver -> Chilliwack -> Hope -> Merritt -> Princeton -> Manning Park -> Hope -> Chilliwack -> Vancouver
At Merritt we will have the option of hitting Kelowna. Whether we go or not will depend on what time we're at Merritt and how everyone's feeling. We don't split up - either we all go, or no one goes. (No pressure either way.)
One way to Merritt should not take more than 3 hours. I'm estimating 2.5. This means a 5 hour round trip, plus a 1-2 hours for a break at Merritt, and the occasional 10-15 minute coffee/gas/washroom breaks we will take once in a while. All in all, should be home in 7-8 hours.
If we choose to go to Kelowna, that's going to be another 4-5 hours on top.
I plan to leave Vancouver fairly early (around 9 am) so we have the option of going to Kelowna if we feel like it.
If you're interested in coming, please post ahead of time - mention where you live. It would be good to get some experienced riders .
I'll post exact meeting spots and times closer to the ride date.
If you're going to bitch about how the 125 isn't suited for the highway or long trips, save it - I'm not interested in reading it, and this ride is happening either way. The point of this ride is to get some fresh air, not to race.
