I've noticed that a lot of newer sportbikes these days have the passenger seating perched up a lot higher. I was wondering if there was a reason for this?
When you take the example of my '95 ZX-6R:
And compare it to a modern example....I chose a 2007 GSXR 600 (only picture i could find with the seatcap off):
You'll notice a significant difference in the positioning, with the passenger being hoisted up a good bit higher. I don't know if this is actually done with passenger ride-ability in mind, or if there is a solo-riding reason behind it and the passenger just has to deal....but....what's the deal? My gf sees pics of these newer bikes and isn't enthusiastic about me getting something newer because she 's comfy how she sits on mine.
