I saw on TV the guys at the MV factory testing the engines for there bikes, and they run em at basically redline for 10hrs+ and
they have to not break down and be reliable. This got me thinking... what is the true engine life of today's sportbikes.
How many km's can i expect to reach before a rebuild or the engine is dead if I do regular scheduled oil changes and keep the bike in good running order? whats usually the first thing to go on a engine??
In a recently Motorcyclist issue, they had a little snippet of a 100,000 mile R1, and the owner said the valves nevered needed adjustments, besides a recall on the frame cracking, he just went thru a few chains and did the regular oil/tire changes and the thing still runs as strong as brand new.
