As the province's most beloved athlete, there is no reason for Dave Nonis to not bring Trevor Linden back to the 2007-2008 Canucks team.
As an athlete, Trevor has proven himself with his years of service to the Canucks, and in particular has turned in a stellar performance last season, and especially so in the playoffs. You have to remember that Vigneault had hardly put Trevor on the ice before the Christmas break last year, so you can't expect our former captain to perform when he is getting next to no ice-time. And then his post-season just speaks for themselves.
As the Canucks icon, Trevor is instantly recognized and well-liked by every Canucks fan. If the Canucks is concerned about their public image at all, management would be stupid to not resign their most iconic player. And every fan knows Trevor is not in this for the money.
Alain Vigneault, if you are reading this, you are one heck of a coach with the Canucks' transformation last year. But at the same time, you are a rat because of the way you have been treating our province's favourite player. You have shown no respect and no class to an athlete that has contributed his athletic career to the organization, and you should be ashamed of it! Redeem yourself by offering Trevor a reasonable contract that is worth more than the pocket change you throw at him last year.
