I was just wondering how hard riders are on their bikes ?
04 SV1000S. I high side a 03 ZX9R around Highland Valley Mine. Just thought I'd go with less Hp. The perception of speed on the 9 was deceptive. 200 to 260km/h not a clue. Way to smooth. So, the SV 110Hp 62 ft/lb rear wheel power was the ticket. Big guy's bike, but still close to a sport bike.
I have nearly 40K on her. She's done me well. The V-Twin is solid. Always put clean blood in her. Just the little things now. Although, bikes are no where close to a car for protecting the important components from the elements. Lets see, premature rear hub bearing failure, intank fuel filter plugged, Rear tail section needs work from touring gear.
I'm going to keep her but the 08 Hayabusa is very tempting.
I live in an apartment and have damaged the bike a few times just trying to pull it out from the front of my car. Let's see, boxed in, grab the rear foot peg and drag her out, the mirror snaps off. Try to manuever it between cars, falls over and put's a golf ball bent in tank.
I will send the tail section in and have it worked on. Thinking, weld the seem cracks, just have mylar put on the sides, anodize grab handle.
It's not worth trading her in and she's a good Gal.
So, are you hard on your bikes. Do you still love her if she's not pretty.
