Hey Gang road report. Saturday morning a few buddies and myself took off for Gibsons as it was to be the 35th Anniversary of the Beachcombers so we thought we'd check it out. Arrived at the ferry at about 8:50 to find an enormous amoun of bikes that were all doing the old Georgia St loop. Up to Powell river over to Comox and back down via Victoria. So needles to say we got a great deal on the fare it was $18 return which from what the Ferry gal said is cheaper then the group rate.
So we got up there and basically as the waitress at Molly's Reach put it, Bruno and Relic are both 6 ft under so I wouldn't be expecting to much to happen. So a couple of us hatched a plan to ride up and check out the Skookumchuk Narrows. 85 kms of absolutely great riding each way, only saw 2smokies weahter was great. Got up there and as we found out along the trail, whoever said its a 20 min walk is on drugs. Anyway its about 40 mins or more each way and a great way to get some fresh air and a small amount of physical exercise. Saw the narrows, hiked it back out and had another great ride back to Gibsons, lunch/dinner at Grama's pub and home. All in all an absolutely wonderful day. Here's some pics. Oh and of course while we were there of course Jimmy's boat had to pull in.
