Riding to Calgary via highway 3 then up highway 22 after Crowsnewst Pass.
I have never experienced wind like THAT while riding and very rarely at all. It wasn't gusting, it was solid wind for about 15-20 minutes with occasional instances of increased wind. At one point it pushed me from the centre line to the other side of the lane and i was fighting the wind HARD.. the bike probably had a 10-15 degree lean and I was going STRAIGHT! One point a truck passed the other way and it blocked the wind which resulted in the bike going towards the centre line so I had to let up a bit but when the truck passed the wind hit me like a tonne of bricks and pushed me back towards the side.
Further down the road I saw something blow off a motorhome. As i got closer I noticed a rider pulled over going the other way. So I stopped and as I was stopping I was fighting the wind to keep the bike upright. I went over and we shared information about how far we had to expect for the wind. He was ok but had new tires. Even walking against the wind was tough.
