Would you pay a US speeding ticket?

So if you don't pay for the speeding ticket what are the consequences?

    Any rant is interesting.

I would suggest you do that and let us know what happens.......

Of course this subject has been debated a few times this year but I suppose it is time to go through it all over again.

If you plan to go down in the same State, if it we me, I would pay it. Fines only get bigger over time.

I got a speeding ticket in Indianna about 5 years ago that I never paid, I haven't heard anything about it since and I travel back and forth across the line all the time, I even passed the security screening for my Nexus card a year ago and nothing came up. Mind you I haven't been back to Indianna since then and don't plan to any time soon so maybe it's disappeared.

I think you'll find that things like that don't just disappear. And if elevated with time and being ignored it may just come back to haunt you later when you least expect it.

I have a friend who let a WA speeding ticket go unpaid. Crossed the border many times, no problem. Got pulled over six years later and the car was impounded. The tow truck driver let him ride to the impound yard, otherwise the cops were just going to leave him standing on I-5. This was on the weekend so there was no way to get it back until Monday.
    So, pay the ticket!!!
If you go to court you can get the fine reduced and they will gladly give you lots of time (year) to pay it.

You'll be able to cross the border fine, but if you get pulled over by Johnny Law and he runs your license, you're in for a world of hurt.

I missed my court date about three weeks ago in Bellingham for a disputed ticket...it just makes riding south of the border more interesting...

Border crossings = nothing to do with unpaid traffic violations.

Once you're in the states though, any time you get yanked by the police in the state where the unpaid ticket resides, you'll be fuxored.

If you ever want to travel back to the state where you got the ticket issued, pay the ticket or dispute it and show up for your court date. Don't leave it, not unless you want to run the risk of getting jail time next time you get pulled over in that state.

I prefer to get my traffic tickets in the states. Think of it this way - there's no points and no effect on your license status or insurance premiums. And with the C$ being so strong, paying the fine really ain't that bad.
My bike is so much faster than yours that I dare you to ride it, you lame little turd. Do you have the balls to ride this BOTTOMLESS PIT OF TORQUE?
