i just thought that i would start this thread to discover if as many people as me hold severe grudges against the game Tourist Trophy.
i got tourist trophy a little while back, and it is a load of crap - it's fun for about maybe 10-12 hours, then you are given a blinding reminder of the fact that it's just a bike version of gran turismo - massive attention to pretty details on the side of the track and on the bikes in general (EXCEPT the cockpit view, which looks like a bad attempt at designing a cockpit view for a bike game on the ps1 - shitty graphics and all), but no attention to making the races actually enjoyable. i want to race my suzuka 8-hours yoshimura gsxr1000 in all the races i possibly can, but what's the point when the AI riders ride like they've just started their rookie season in the 50cc vespa grand prix? they should make the game HARDER!! the AI should ride like they're casey stoner, not sylvain guintoli.
the guys at polyphony digital should be applauded for creating one of the most realistic *cough*bullshit*cough* racing games ever to come out, but should be kicked up the arse for not paying attention to the parts that REALLY matter. i don't give a shit if my dodge viper sparkles in the sunlight that gently caresses the snowy mountains - sure it makes the game LOOK polished - what i care about is the driving experience. i've driven a dodge viper, and i guarantee they don't handle anything like their GT counterparts. polyphony digital should take a leaf from the book of PGR3 (that's the only good one in the series so far)...when you gun a viper round a corner, they get untidy like my ex girlfriend's bedroom after coming home from a night out!!! even with all assists switched off, the viper was still impossibly easy to control.
and races are waaaaaaay too easy. the AI drives as if their accelerator is mechanically unable to push past 1/10 throttle. GAY. when you get into an S class race with an S class car, you should be racing against S class drivers. anyways...that's my rant for the day.
hopefully polyphony digital don't fuck up the next GT and TT, i'll be very disappointed if they do...cheers!
