ok i have done my research and read these posting people wrote but as far as i am conserned. to buy a bike from states... I want to buy a 2005 Rc51, its been droped he did wheelie and dropped it. just fairing damage?? anyones opinion, side of nose was damaged and side faring was little scuffed on sticker.. white streaks on paint.. not much... clutch cover little bit scuffed??
go to states, buy bike.
get "title in hand" (does it cost $$ to transfer bike to name) (canada you do)
put bike in my name
give border "72hrs 3 work days notice"
when the 3 days is up...
Go to US border, when they let me know its ok. Must have,
"title", "bill of sale"
(will i get any forms from the US side after they clear my bike)
to possible give to canada?
when they clear me...
go to canada border
go inside canada border
give them "title in hand" and "bill of sale"
they will give me "form 1" (Will i get anyother forms)
(this form 1, do i fill anything in, or is it all done through computer"
i pay my "6%" gst
When i register the bike in my name i have to pay the other (7%) @ ICBC??????
they will clear me through and take the bike home
i dont need to have that cleared before i hit the border?
i have to pay the 208$ to allow the bike to be insured in canada?? (my case ICBC)
does that (208$) include the inspection i need to get at canadian tire?
(Is the canadian tire the only inspection i need to get)
When im in the states, to transfer bike in my name, it dont cost me a dime, just a signature right?
I got the VIn for the bike and when i use carfax.com, it says its incorrect VIN. Funny his truck he has, he did his vin on his truck to carfax.com and same thing, showed up as incorrect. I did a search on my bike, which was initially purchased from Washington, it showed up as being on record. You think that means nothing..
anything else im missing please let me know, cause i want to go purchase a bike in washington in 2 days..
I feel confident that i did my research, but any last minute advise or better methods on doing This...
Which border you guys think would have the least hastle. the bike is near the outlet malls....
Thankx alot for the help
