So I get a phone call yesterday from my wife, and she asks me "how was work today?" to which I respond "Not so good." There's a slight pause and then she asks "can I make it worse?" Now, I'm thinking this isn't a good thing to hear from my wife so I start quizzing her about what she did, and if I need to pick her or my son up from the hospital. After a few questions, I come straight out and ask "so what happened?" After another shortish pause, she finally says "I dropped your bike today. Please don't divorce me!"
Now, divorce was never really an option, but I usually throw out the empty threat (inside joke between us) for fairly minor things, but for that split second it didn't sound like a bad idea. Then I realized that my wife just dropped a 372 pound bike and she might be injured and my concern skyrocketed. But she assured me she was alright, and then told me that the only damage to the bike was a quarter sized scrape in the decal on the right mid faring.
I got out and looked at the bike today, and yup, it's all cosmetic, and you know, I'm not one of those guys who's real concerned about a little scratch, so I guess I'll just stay married to her eh?
Alls well that ends well I guess.
