Wow I want an 848 for christmas. I'd like to see what that white/pearl/cream looks like in person.
for the link inept:
yeeeesh, wtf have they done to the monster?!? hopefully the S4R series is better off than that
"I dread beyond all else the growth of the petty tyranny of restrictive legislation, the transference of disciplinary authority from the judiciary to the constabulary, the abandonment of every constitutional safeguard of individual liberty."
Is that the left side exhaust that loops underneath the bike right in front of the rear tire?
Wow, a cosmetic upgrade for the Monster? I thought they'd never get around to it - what had it been, 12 years?
My bike is so much faster than yours that I dare you to ride it, you lame little turd. Do you have the balls to ride this BOTTOMLESS PIT OF TORQUE?

That 848 is one sexy ride .
The 848 sadly makes no sense, running in at only 2k less than the 1098, why bother?
Also ew at wet clutch.
Just like the 749 wouldn't make sense, if it was only 2k less than the 999... =P

I think the rear subframe on the new Monster looks too chunky, like an older Buell. And the seat looks like a Speed Triple's. They really got the "stance" right, though.
...and the passenger-peg bracket looks like it was lifted right off the Ninja 650.
ditto on Ebicat's note, why bother with an 850, when the 1100 is just around the corner?....although i do like the wet clutch idea, not as sexy, but less probs for sure.....id love to import one from down south right now. btw, whats this i hear about american dealers not selling to canadian residents? any ideas?
Don't knock the 848 despite its $12,999 USD list. Althought it won't qualify for Supersport, it is the perfect street/track bike or even BOTT.
369lbs - 40lbs lighter than the 749 or 11 lbs less than the 1098.
137HP - that better HP/weight ratio than even the 999r.
no more groaning and sputtering off the line.
