The incongruity of sportbikes whipping around some parts of India is odd to say the least. What is even odder is Yamaha chose the MT-01 as one of their entry bikes. Maybe their marketing people should take one out for a test ride.
The MT-01 is the bike that could have been but they blew it. The bike is a travesty. You have to ride one to understand. It's disgusting.
So how many people CAN you fit on an R1?
If you wanna say something, speak into the mic. It's right above my balls.
Completely the wrong type of bike for those roads and highways, I was just over there this past summer and it's a death sentence to ride something with that litle maneuverability on those streets. You see 125cc bikes more commonly over there for a reason, they're light and agile. Try to handle an R1 when you have an average of 100 cars and trucks on any given city block. Good Luck. They will definately make some sales however, there is an incredible amount of expendible income in the upper class.
Bart: What's Santa's Little Helper doing to that dog? Looks like he's trying to jump over, but he can't quite make it.
Yikes! I did see a couple of "big bikes" when I was there a couple of years ago. Saw a GSX-R 1000 on the higway, and a parked R6 I think. They may have been imported. I can't imagine riding something like that there...a 'tard would be perfect though.
I rode a 175cc(??) Honda Hero and a 150cc Pulsar or something like that...that was enough of a handful on those streets! And you should've seen the confused look on the guy's face when we asked him if he had helmets we could use.
BCSB - I hate you

The world is a tragedy to those who feel, but a comedy to those who think.
Great marketing strategy by Yamaha..with the economy as hot as it is,the middle class there has loads of money to blow nowadays..Maybach,Porsche,Mercedes all have good sales figures there, but yes have to agree, you ride a R1,might as well take out a date on the local cremation ground...used to have a de-restricted Royal Enfield Bullet for my holidays there btw guess how much the R1 is costing ?....price works out to $25,769 dollars :but comes with its own dedicated telephone hotline, website and exclusive dealers in five cities .evilgrin
