I have to take a new Plasma TV round to my son's house tomorrow morning, but am concerned about laying it flat in the back of my wagon. The box has arrows and warnings on it to keep it upright, and the sales guy said that it had to be kept upright or it would "be damaged". How? Will I damage it if I lay it down flat for a couple of hours?
Edited to add: Ahhh...I just googled "Laying a Plasma TV flat in the back of a car" and got a gazillion hits.
Who knew that I was not the only paranoid person when it comes to stuff like this.
Apparently, the only risk is over-stressing the glass screen when laying flat. A 42" Plasma screen should be ok laying flat, as long as I don't go over bumps or put any other weight on top of it.
IAE, the thing has probably been kicked every which way on its journey down the Silk Road to Shanghai and on to Future Shop.
