So turns out to battle the fact that they're completely gouging the consumer in price they've done something new to make everyone hate them. Any bike purchased in the US (I have a 749 that was brought up) now costs double to service than a bike purchased in Canada. Yeah that's right, a 1k service at John Valk costs me 2k. The bikes are the same, only difference is mine was originally from Ducati Seattle. Wow... just wow.
According to Valk, RMS will be the same as well (this is for BMW bikes also).
Also they have the 1098S listed at 29.9k and it's listed at 19.9K in the US.
(This is according to my roommate who just gave me a call while he was there to let me know about this). I can't even begin to believe the crap that's coming out of local dealers. As soon as they stop charging 5K-10K more than a bike costs, I'll start buying from them.
They're no longer issuing recall letters as well for Ducati's coming from the US (according to Valk) so making it much harder to import.
Edit: I'm not 100% on the difference in price, last I remember it was 25k to the US's 20K I'm taking my roommates word for that, their website still has it listed at 25k... so chances are he's wrong.
None the less, the service charges are beyond belief.
Not only did they lose any respect I had, they just lost all my business too.
