If there is anyone in the Abbotsford/Chilliwack/Aldergrove area that has access to construction sites/dig sites, RPM will be looking to find some clay to be delivered sometime around May. You don't even need to be connected to construction, if you are out that way and see a site that is digging up the earth, stop in and get the 411, but it needs to be clean clay.
Last year we ended up having to pay for every load of dirt that came in, we are hoping that we can get that dirt for free if we start looking now. If anyone has any leads or thoughts please post up.
I would not be so sure on how to approach the situation, but it would make sense that if you found a site, go in and try to locate the site manager. Most anyone on a work site should be able to point you in the right direction. He would know about the dirt and what they are doing with it. Also, it would need to be a site close enough to the airport to make it worth while for the trucking company to drop it there for free.
We used about 120 truck loads last year. The dirt section will be a bit smaller this season but I would anticipate around 70 or 80 loads.
Cheers, any input is appreciated...
