Finally I got around to cutting the video for our Benelli TNT 1130 Cafe Racer Review.
Nice one, Neal, I'm particularly impressed with the dramatic soundtrack, and seamless editing. Oh, and I liked the quick cop cameo thrown in for good measure. BTW I'm getting a good laugh out of your car reviews as well.
"the engine ready to trebuchet your licence into non-existence..."
Interesting review Neil. You managed to pull the review out of a full on thrash of the bike on build quality into a bike that you still absolutely need. I am surprised none of the bike manufacturers haven't snapped you up for their marketing efforts.
Aside from that nice job. Very entertaining.
To only thrash on the build quality wouldn't have been fair to the bike. There is a very special feel to the Benelli, despite it's failings. On the flip side I think we received one of the "good" ones, because other than a couple minor niggles it performed well. There are however a lot of horror stories out there to balance that out.
I've been approaching all this with the philosophy of trying to convey, as best I can, the experience of riding (or driving) the vehicle in question. I'll fully own up to the reviews being subjective.
Mind you before I owned a TNT I'd be damn sure to have something else in the stable, just in case.
Catching a Yellow Jacket in your shirt @ 70mph can double your vocabulary
So DO they catch fire?
My bike is so much faster than yours that I dare you to ride it, you lame little turd. Do you have the balls to ride this BOTTOMLESS PIT OF TORQUE?

Nice video review Neil. I wasn't a huge fan of all the zoom/pans at the beginning (thought the effect got old fast) but once the riding started I enjoyed it
The "direction" should be a bit calmer this year once we start getting the press bikes. We've been practicing.
I'm all for constructive suggestions as far as improving these. So far we've had a suggestion for a section of the vids that are free from scoring and narration so folks can hear the bikes... I suspect I'm about to shell out large for mics suddenly.
Nice review .......
The difference between you and me .........
Now that I think about it, you might not need all that much time with the sound. One good run into a corner (maybe with downshift), one hard run out and one 'pass'. That would keep the complexity down but give you a decent overall sense of the bike. Just don't spend it having it sit there rev it while not moving... (my $0.02)
Personally I thought it sounded like it was coming from a guy who used to lock himself in his basement and play DND with his other dorky buddies. The bike is an exotic. It's going to have reliability issues. You don't buy a bike like that to go on a road trip with. You buy it for fun excitment and desirability. The only problem with it is the price. Forza crono shows it for 23,995 and you can get one in the states for $15,999. Thats a slight difference. The type of person who buys this bike is the same that would buy a Ferrari or a Lambo. It's built to say I have one adn it's awesome. No more no less.
