I have been planning the trip down to Laguna Seca for awhile now, just too excited about it. Since there is no one to coordinate the JV ride I have been asked to post up all the plans and details I have. This is an open thread for those who want to ride down to Laguna Seca. We will not necessarily be riding together but since we all have the same destination in mind, it would be great to meet up a couple of times! So feel free to share your plans via this thread or a PM to me.
Since I am cornerworking the MotoGP I need to arrive at Laguna Seca Thursday evening. I will need to get there in four days. I will need to average 600kms a day to do this. The route I will be taking will NOT be direct but close to the big interstates in order to speed things up. I will be posting maps shortly. Once the MotoGP is over. Monday Morning I head back and I have up to seven days to get back home. I plan to take the most INDIRECT route possible. I have two weeks off and I plan to spend ALL of it with motorcycle related activities!
Since I will be leaving from SBS 2008 in Osoyoos, there will be a group leaving from there. For those of your not attending SBS 2008 I assume you will be leaving from Vancouver. I will setup a map so that we can arrive at the same town/city.
Here is a great option for those of you that want to go on a good ride but can't make it to the GP. Follow us down partway to Laguna Seca and just turnback when your time runs out. I have talked to two people that like this idea. Let's add to it.
Adam and I decided to leave SUNDAY instead of Monday. We agreed that we would be sitting around on Sunday itching to go. With this change we have changed the routes slightly. This allows for more flexibility and a relaxed ride. We will be able to "stop and smell the roses". All the updated routes are below, I have left some of the route planning open for suggestions. I also think there will be slight changes most mornings.
