Hello, I am realtively new to Vancouver and need a little help finding a good motorcycle shop near UBC area.
I initially went to Bayside but will NEVER go back to them again. I was leaving the country for 10 days, and I dropped my bike off for some work. I was gone for 10 days, and was assured that the parts were in, and the bike would be done when I got back.
Kevin was not there when I picked up my bike, but NOTHING was done. I asked to have Kevin call me, and he didn't. When I emailed him a week later he did not offer an explanation or apology. Instead he told me the bike was only there for 5-6 days!!! This was not even possible as I dropped my bike off on the way to the airport, and was actually 2 days LATE picking it up. He had my bike for 13 days in total...Sufficient time to repalce chain, sprockets and brakes I think.
I gave Bayside a chance to retain me as a customer, but was told " There are plenty of other shops in town", so here I am asking for some advice...
Sorry about the rant, but I think it is important to offer honest feedback, and as a community we need to share our experiences. I told Kevin that I may not have the fastest bike around, or be willing to spend thousands of $$$ on upgrades, but I should still feel like a valued customer. I fully support local shops, but with treatment like that it is hard not to spend my $$$ in the US where things are often much cheaper.
I realize that there are many glowing reviews of Bayside here, but this is simply my experience. I am not sure why mine was so negatve as I was nothing but friendly and non-confrontational???
Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
