I hate taking time and money to do work that doesn't need to be done. There's a couple scratches on my otherwise fine wheels, and painting just sucks for high contact areas like these. I want to get them powdercoated, but don't want to remove the bearings. I've had a swingarm done before without removing them, I just got all of the grease out of them and had them covered for the process, then cleaned them out and regreased them.
With wheels, I'm a little concerned about doing the same thing; swingarm bearings aren't rotating at extremely high speeds when riding. Has anyone gone the lazy route and just cleaned and covered the bearings, leaving them in the wheels for the powdercoating process?
