I couldn't resist the weather, and threw the bike on the road... fast forward till about 1am, and I havn't eaten for several hours, and feel the need. Most everywhere is closed by now, so I head in to the local "Wendy's" establishment, and pull into the drive-thru. Wait for a few minutes. The speaker isn't crackling to life, yet I can see them looking at me through the window. So I pull up to them, and they try to tell me that they have a new policy; they can't serve you unless you're in a CAR. I asked them if it was location specific or chain-wide. They said 'everywhere' would have this new policy implemented by now.
wtf. I've been doing this for years on a bike. In my younger years I was bitten by the 'no walkthrough' bullshit, but that makes sense. But no motorbikes?
I rose quite the stink. I stated that I was in fact operating a motor-vehicle and their new 'policy' was ill-conceived and discriminatory. (There was also more than a fair share of foul words mixed in, but I digress). I simply refused to leave until they took my order, then pulled over into the available parking space and ate ... it was probably a spit-burger, but whatever... the guy behind me stopped to give his support, stating that it was practically 'racism against riders' and something must be done about this bullshit. I agree.
wtf kind of policy is that, anyways?!
