need a seattle hotel recommendation/hookup!
Me and the lady are going down to seattle on wednesday for a kinda spur of the moment trip to see a band she likes. we need a cheap place to stay that's close to our venue (the showbox at Pike and 1st downtown)
We're trying to make it a cheap little trip cause she's a student i'm just cheap.
show tickets ($20x2 = $40)
gas = $40 roundtrip tops (taking the bike)
foods = $60 (two meals@ 30 each i guess)
so we're at $140 so far. we were gonna try and keep the whole thing under $200, but that only leaves accomodations at 60 bucks. there's a hostel super close at $40, but it's booked unfortunately.
Does anyone have any suggestions or even have any hookups for deals in the downtown pike place area? We want to be close enough to stumble back to the hotel after the show
Go to www.tripadvisor.com
Look up hotels and bed and breakfasts in the seattle area, read the reviews (extremely helpfull). Easy enough to rank all the Bed & Breakfasts in descending order of price.
license to chill
The absolute cheapest bed I know of in that area is the Green Tortoise. Beware though, I've never stayed there but from friends in Seattle I've heard two different versions of what it's like. You can book a private room. Post up your experience if you try it. I think it's worth at least a drive-by.
Another vote here for Tripadvisor. Just take it with a grain of salt at times.
I have had super luck with priceline.com
You pick an area of town, the number of stars, and then essentially bid on price. I have stayed at the 4 star Sheraton in the heart of downtown, 3 min walk to Pike Place for $105/night, twice in the past 12mos....typical rates, over $200 night.
One thing to keep in mind, which I don't see on your listed budget is parking....better add $30 for the night....it's crazy downtown.

I used priceline and found myself a 3-star at $79 a night! Turns out it's Crowne Plaza, like 5 blocks from the show venue!
Thanks for the suggestions guys!
