Dunno if its been discussed to death before (and search is hit or miss with me... miss this time) but is there anyway to have a dirt bike insured to your house policy ?
I phoned up my insurance provider, they said they dont do anything recreationally, only ride-a-mowers. I have heard of people putting bicycles / quads / dirt bikes on their home policy, but cant find any information.
Anybody know of an insurance provider that will provide just theft coverage for a locked dirt bike in a secured garage ?? Kind of sketchy leaving a 450cc bike in a garage all day long, especially if somebody REALLY wants your bike.
Endurocross, Try it!
Home insurance will not cover dirtbikes. You will need a separate policy. Unfortuantely if you go through ICBC the policy will probably be more than the costs of the bike(s). I had a quote from ICBC for two KTM's and a TTR-230 and the costs were close to $3500.00 for fire, theft and liability. Try Capri Insurance http://www.capri.ca Their costs are substantially cheaper. They also can cover your trailer if you have one. Most folks don't know that if your trailer gets rearended by someone, ICBC will only cover the costs of the trailer, not the bikes and equipment. As far as I know Capri is the only outfit in BC other than ICBC that covers off-road bikes. Most agents don't know this is available.

There's a member on this board, who typically helps members out...I think it's Cassels Insurance, Paul...try the search, I'm not sure about the spelling.
I talked with my insurance provider today, they said under no circumstances do they insure off-road vehicles (the exception being ride a mowers), and theyre giving us a damn good deal on the house insurance...
The Capri Group seems to have good rates for a dirt bike (at leas IMO), $400 a year for All Peril coverage seems reasonable. Thanks for the links hopefully I'll have my 450 in 2 weeks
just street legal your dirt bike and buy regular insruance
