This one's for the 2007 R1 Owners out there, look like Yamaha Canada is following the US lead if a bit quietly...
"Let’s call our source Deep Stack in honor of the R1’s variable intakes…* Regardless OneWheelDrive.Net has been informed that a fix has been issued for the 5500RPM throttle lag we reported in our 2007 Yamaha R1 road impression."
I'm happy to report that the 08 is totally lag free and respond very well to throttle inputs- However, feels like there is a smoothing of throttle input: abrupt throttle rotation doesn't generate more power than smooth inputs.
I'm OK with that.
I can happily report that after a week and a half of waiting (during the summer months) when pacyam sent my ecu to toronto to have it flashed, that the problem is now fixed.
Here is a photo of the R1 with the throttle lag fixed; notice the blur of motion that it creates :flip
If you stare at the pic long enough, you will see that the ECU has been fixed.
Same as the 07 except for the availability of black.
Heated seat std for 08 as well
Mine has the Diablo Corsa as OEM.
Overall I'm very happy to have an R1. Always wanted to be like ralphael :evilgrin
It's not black. It is brown, chocolatey brown like... Nutella.
