Gomery publication ban
"The potential damage of their testimony has so unnerved the Liberal Party that they have reportedly started working towards a snap election so that they will not have to face the voters once the facts surface from the record.

If they do, I hope the public sees right through it.
It sounds like big news, which must mean Martin is linked to this somehow.

How can there be a publication ban? Martin promised a full investigation to get to the bottom of it. Fucking liar!

Sorry, folks. I didn't pass on the link.
http://www.captainsquartersblog.com/...ves/004220.php
There is the prospect of criminal charges so some of the details fall under the publication ban. The US does not follow this so we're getting news from there.
This is my fave"
In exchange for these large contracts for little or no work, Brault kicked back generously to the Liberal Party, putting Liberal organizers on his payroll while they continued to perform party work (including, at one point, Prime Minister Jean Chrétien’s brother, Gaby Chrétien), paying invoices to other companies for work actually done for the Liberal Party, and giving large donations -- in cash -- to the Liberal Party through Renaud or Liberal Party organizer (and close associate of Public Works Minister Alfonso Gagliano) Joe Morselli."

yup, and it's in the tens of millions. wasted only to investigate more waste. the worst part is that when the dust settles NOTHING will have changed. there will be no charges, no accountablity and no justice.
over 100 million dollars in tax money up in smoke with nothing to show for it, remember that the next time you or a family member can't get in to see a doctor or cannot afford an education.
in reality this is only the tip of the iceberg, in this case they got busted.

Just to keep this up to date:
MONTREAL (CP) - The federal Liberal party, beset by persistent allegations public money was funnelled into its Quebec wing, said Monday it has asked the RCMP to investigate the possibility the party was a victim of fraud.
http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Canada/2...982081-cp.html
What a pathetic, lame deflection. This smells just the same as when some bogus society was charged when the NDP ripped off the bingo games. "It's not our fault.. we're victims too"

That's pathetic.
The thing with Bingogate is that Mike Harcourt did the right thing and took responsibility for the actions of his party. He gets my respect for that. After all the information settled, he was found to be clear.
The sponsorship scandal is much greater in magnitude than Bingogate was and I have very little respect for Paul Martin because he is trying to hide behind a commission and a wall of lawyers. The Liberal Party can't claim they did't know where their money came from. Believe me, each political party tracks their supporters very closely.

Has anybody found a link to the story on a US website? They aren't honoring the publication ban, so maybe we can find out what the hullaballoo is all about.

More details are coming out and CKNW had the F-Liberal party leader on the radio and all he could do was apologies. This may force an election sooner than later.

I think the Conservatives are going to wait this out until more testimony is received as it could get worse. The information so far is very bad and the whole situation is filled with corruption. There is SO much money going around it is sick. If you read the following article, you can't even count how many people are involved in this scam.
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servl...tory/National/
With all these people involved and the amount of money and patronage, why did nobody come forward to bring it to a stop? We definately need a change in government and the Liberals deserve a resounding defeat.
