Anyone heard of Point to Point Destinations?
I got a call from this company called "Point to Point Destinations", saying that I had entered a draw at a tradeshow "sometime in the last two years" and that as a result i'd been chosen as a winner.
Two free Canucks tickets, and a coupon good for 2 for 1 on Carnival Cruise Lines. The catch? My wife and I come down to their office for a "tour" (yeah, right, more like a sales presentation). I said sure, what the heck, if nothing else it'll be some free entertainment. I signed up for next Sunday the 29th.
They had slots open this weekend too, did anyone else get the call, did you go, and how was it? Did you get the free Canucks tickets without buying anything? That's all I really care about.

Just don't buy! They give that shit away because they manage to sell stuff. Timeshares are brutal for most people.

I've belonged to Point to Point for 8 years. Not all timeshares are the same. With this one I got really good hotels at Montertey, Cali and other places along the way on motorcycle trips. We've been to Hawaii, Palm Springs and England. Having a condo close to GM place is great, so are the home resorts at Whistler and Victoria. We were sceptical and bought in at the lowest level, have since bought more. Friends joined and they travelled all througuh Europe staying at related resorts. Like anything else, it's worth it if you use it, a rip off if you don't.

Yeah, I know it's a timeshare presentation. Just wondering if they'll pull something like "you have to buy in to get your Canucks tickets" at the last minute or something like that.
I'm fascinated by the sales process, so sitting through the presentation and the high-pressure sales tactics will just be entertainment. I won't be buying.

I know Point to Point as well. First off everyone wins there draw. Yes, you get the tickets and the 2 for 1 Carnival cruise pass once you go through the presentation. It burns up an easy 1.5 hours minimum. They do the dog and pony show, video pres, tour of a suite across the street and then they sit you down to make the sale. The whole thing is rather hilarious and it is high pressure sales. Just go get your prize and get the hell outta there as fast as you can.

My wife and I did the Point to Point presentation quite a few years ago. I think we got $100 in Whistler bucks at that time (very cool as they are $$$ damn near everywhere in Whistler).
Anyway we ended up buying 1 week. Not too bad in terms of pressure presentation. After looking at it (and the fact we had just cleared up our financial mess) we decided against it after a week. The sales man said no problem and the contract was toast. Zero pressure.
If I was to buy a time share I would buy one from them in a heartbeat.

I got the same call -- though I was promised a pair of *second round* Canucks tickets
My wife and are too busy to waste 1.5+ hours for a pair of nose bleed Canucks tickets. I offered to come and pickup the tickets, but I wasn't prepared to sit through their spiel.

We got a call from them last summer. They promised a free digital camera and a cruise on Carnival Cruise Lines.
Went for the presentation and after telling them no the manager got pissed at us and pretty much wanted us to leave RFN.
We got the camera which was a POS and the cruise ticket was a 2 for 1 voucher.

Not a sales pitch, it's just something that worked for me. Opinions were asked for and many were given.

Point To Point Destinations
My wife and I attended a POINT TO POINT DESTINATIONS presentation on April 13th, 2008. After the presentation, we decided not to go with the high pressure sale. The lady who came to deliver our free prize was rude and slammed the free gift voucher to Vegas on out table. Anyhow, we filled in the gift voucher and send it to Odenza and they are wanting USD 328.70 to be made payable to Odenza Marketing Group!?!
This is called bait and switch.
I recommend people don't waste their time.
