One of our long time sponsors is putting their faces to the test: Trevor from Burnaby Kawasaki (notice the 3 a's):

It's Movember, the month formerly known as November, which is dedicated to growing moustaches and raising awareness and funds for men's health. We have joined the movement and will be donating our upper lips to the cause for 30 days.

Tap-a-talk mobile app enabled for forums

After much deliberation we've enabled the Tap-a-Talk software to work with the forums. I have also disabled the auto-popup that plagues a lot of the installations of this software so users that wish to use the mobile theme on their mobile web browser can still do so.

If vBulletin can get off their ass and improve their own app, we may look at creating our very own -- however as it stands today it's a very troublesome product that doesn't work very well.

So if you have an iPhone or Android, you can give this a go. Enjoy.

It's $2.99 - and this site receives no funds from it - not sure on the Android's cost.

Motorcycle accidents and you - How to reduce the amount of crash threads

I've discovered that in order to reduce the amount of threads about motorcycle crashes we must simply stop having people crash. In the past few days we've seen a very large amount of threads and news reports on motorcycle crashes in the lower mainland. All the typical routes, and all the typical causes:

    - Unsafe/Illegal passing
    - Speeding
    - Undue care

For the love of our passion here and for those that care about us. Keep safety at the top of your checklist when doing the once-over on your bike before departing for your ride (you are doing a quick once-over right?).

We've had a lot of spam issues in the last couple of years and at some times it's been downright ridiculous. I've taken a couple of new steps to try and prevent it (along with banning huge amounts of IP's that our outside of North America).

With it, I left the 'requires moderation' setting to ON for a number of weeks just prior to the upgrade. Well, I've been trying to go through them but theirs just so many registrations I can't make heads or tails of who is legit and who is a fraud. As such, I'm just going to purge them all and have you re-register.

So please, if you've registered in the last month and haven't gotten approved, please re-register. My sincere apologies for the inconvenience. Blame the dirty spammers selling you member enlargements and stealing your worldwide bandwidth.

When visiting from your mobile device you should now find it easier to navigate around BCsportbike's forum structure.

Unfortunately the CMS (this frontpage) is still not fully compatible with this new style but we're hoping to have this updated in the near future as the software vendor allows. You'll want to visit the mobile forums directly by going to http://www.bcsportbikes.com/forum/forum.php

With the iphone (and likely the Android though I can't test it myself), once on this page you can bookmark it as an icon to your home screens which will give you instant access to the site !

Test it out, let us know what you think !

As you've probably already noticed the site has gone over a major overhall. We expect there to be a few bumps and have started a thread in the forums to discuss anything you notice that needs updating or changing.

Explore around, let us know what you think. Shortly we'll be enabling a few of the other features (mobile browser style, yay!).

In anticipation of some of the updates coming here shortly, we have disabled the ability to add or modify content in the photos area. In the future we will be moving to a new system for photos and we'll leave this one in a read only state for a period of time.

    More details to come.

    Thank you,

    The administration.

Shopping for a new helmet. I've always been an Arai guy but thinking of branching out. I'd like to hear some feedback from people that own the AGV GP-Tech. I'm on the fence between that and a Bell Star. Price isn't a deciding factor for me.
