General discussion of Sportbikes
I thought I'd start a sticky for people to list their stolen bikes. This can be an easy reference point if you see something fishy on the market.
To help with detailing the theft, report the date and location of theft, make, model, VIN, colour, location etc. Anything that could assist with...
There are way too many oil threads started in a year, and most lead down a similar path of debate and frustration.
So, ALL oil related threads/posts will be contained within this area going forward.
Feel free to discuss the exciting merits of syn for not? Fantastic winter oil options? All...

The dangers of riding(categorized) from the safety nazi of the day(me):
in my small amount of time riding I've come up with a couple observations regarding the dangers. I've compiled them into an unscientific, statistically oriented list from most frequently happening on BCSB to least(some...
It's that time of year again, so just a head's up, no specific "date" in the subject line
of a ride thread, gets deleted.
"Saturday" does not count, that's DAY, not a DATE. There are many Saturdays in a year, but only one April 1st.
Reason this is being posted in the General Sportbike...
When these things first came out they were a joke.......looks like they evolved
I've long used the pashnit.com CA roads section for California exploration / imagination/ trip planning, and the website is being revised. Tim Mayhew has been riding these roads for something like 25 years, publishing information for the past 20, and running tours for the past 16. I know from...
RCMP Press release:
Police Tackling Noisy Vehicles
The onset of summer is not always good news for some Lower Mainland residents, who dread the increase in noisy motorcycles and other vehicles on their neighborhood roads.
The North Vancouver RCMP and Port Mann freeway patrol are inviting...
Was up Baker the other day - and the following observations:
They are patching of the road using a pavement
recycler, and doing 10-20 m long, lane wide patches
which are pretty well seamed (at least for now)
There is a quite lengthy one-lane section with a REALLY
slow pilot vehicle -...
Planning a little jaunt with my lady over there. Are there any paved roads other than the highway? I'm thinking:
Roberts Creek Pier
FZ09 and CBR250 so only short jaunts on unpaved surfaces (like 1-2km max)
We all know motorcycling is dangerous, right? Motorcyclists are somewhere between 10 and 30 times as likely to die in a motor vehicle accident as automobile drivers. The chances of this dire outcome are small, and we individually do what we can to increase our odds, but the statistics do not lie....
don't these people understand what BRAND is all about?
Is anyone else finding they cannot get on to the i-BMW.com website? I have not been able to for 2 days now and I am wondering if it is just me.
Been a long time since I have posted here but was wondering what everyone's thoughts on these two units would be? Pro's, con's to both etc. I have always just used earbuds for music and never used any comms when on my bike. I am planning on doing a few group rides this summer so I was wondering...
Got my arse to the Motorcycle show willing to put downpayment on the new BMW S1000RR. According to the rep from MTL there, Only a few lucky SOB will get their new 2019/2020 RR by June or late August later this year. No thanks. I want to ride ASAP. I am torn between a left over Aprilia RSV4 RR or...
The two-wheeled version of Uber now available: motorycle-hailing-app-go-launched
An interesting quick read.
Looking at a 2002 R1 w/37,000 km.on it tomorrow.
Besides obvious questions, anything special to watch out for with them?
Background is next to no maintenance records, stock as a rock sort from LED turnsignals, tail tidy and Ohlins steering damper.
Going to test ride it for any gearbox...

Thor :rockon decided to organize a Sunshine Coast ride on BCSB at the last minute, this motley crew showed up :)
We grabbed coffees and rode in a rather unruly manner through downtown Van up to the ferry terminal
So, as you know guys, BSB is the best Sportbike racing on Earth due to silly tracks and no electronics involved. The problem is, it is only on Eurosport channel which is not available in North America.
So first thing,
Download Bluestacks for Windows 10, it is an Android emulator.
Good day all. I am looking for your thoughts. My bike was hit in a parking lot and it has acquired a new patina both sides The damage is cosmetic... but a lot of it. I have an appointment with holeshshot for a quote. Is holeshot a good place for insurance claims, has anyone had an experience there?...
Hey all, I've visited BC a few times, rented motorcycles here and on the island, even rode out here once and started the game of tag on this forum (is that still going on?). Anyway, just thought I'd let you know about our most recent travel plans:
Neda and I got our motorcycle licenses together...
Hey everyone, just wanted to say hi as I'm new here. Been riding for awhile now but back on a sportbike as of a couple weeks ago so I'll be looking for some people to meet up and go for rides with.
Hope to meet you soon.
I'd like to get one policy of excess insurance to cover 5 vehicles. Insure only with ICBC for 200K liability only on each vehicle as required and then have private coverage under one policy. it would also help if I could throw in a boat for $0 - $5 million.
Anyone from this brain trust already...
I got myself a....... I hope to see you guys on the road.
Hello, My name is Lucas, Iím looking to rent a motorcycle for a day or two around July 17th to 23rd, as I will be visiting Vancouver from Toronto this summer, and riding through the mountains is something I have always dreamt of doing.
I am 19 years old, with an M2 license, and have completed...
But Im not so sure I would ride it just yet...
So my wife is giving up riding, so I thought it'd be a opportunity to trade in both our bikes and get a new bike. Life has been busy for me last few years, so I only get to take it out on weekends now. Was thinking of maybe downsizing to a 300cc-500c bike.. I know I only have a SV650, but it's...
Ever since I got my SV several years ago, I was using Beacon for 3rd party insurance. I liked that they pay out agreed value for the bike, and that they would insure my track only bike for theft. These are the 2 things that as far as I know no other 3rd party insurance would do.
Last few years...
You're a few days late on your annual thread. :)
I really like this:
Use this control to limit the display of threads to those newer than the specified time frame.
Allows you to choose the data by which the thread list will be sorted.
Order threads in...
Note: when sorting by date, 'descending order' will show the newest results first.
