Forum Rules - Rules

Forum Rules

Any of these basic rules can be boiled down to common sense and an effort from the site and moderators to promote a good, friendly and helpful online community. You need to keep in mind most of the users online are local people to you. The big 'it's the internet, i'm anonymous' rules don't really apply here.

No flaming.

Understand that jokes between friends will occur, but understand that you are to be a polite and upstanding online BCSB user that will try in earnest to be respectful of others opinions. Like your mother used to tell me, "do unto others as you'd have them do upon you".

No harassment.

Absolutely no tolerance. If any moderator receives a report of harassment that can be validated through our online logs, the user can face being permanently banned, ISP notified of internet misusage and possible police action based on severity.

No porn.

We don't need it. There's a huge percentage of the internet that's available for that - it's not that we disagree with it, just that it doesn't have a place at BCSB.

Disallowed specific topics

We're all about freedom of speech, however there are some topics that don't belong here, and here's the breakdown:

* Running from the cops
* Police bashing/slander

Use it. If it's bike related, you can also be certain it's been talked about before, so use the search function before posting.

Avatars must be of a non-pornographic nature in addition to non-offensive to some extent. Have a picture of your girlfriend? Great. Have a picture of you having sex with your girlfriend? Great - but don't put it as your avatar. Bottom line is it's the moderators call if it's past the line of good taste and can be removed.

Short and sweet please. No links to commercial ventures you have any interest in or advertising unless you actively sponsor the site.

Make your comments count.

If you have something to say, make an effort of communicating it intelligently. Don't have anything worth while contributing? Don't say anything.

Photo Rules.

Do not post pictures of things for sale in the marketplace. Upload it elsewhere and link the image, or attach it to the thread using the attach image function. No exceptions.

Do not post pictures of non-sportbike related items or activities unless they directly pertain to your life.

Marketplace Rules.

Strict enforcement of the marketplace takes place. You must abide by the rules in the forum for posting advertisements for sale. Ads must not be bumped up with a reply more than once every 7 days. Any violations or misuse of the marketplace will result in thread removal and possible account suspension. A more complete set of rules for ads are posted in a FAQ at the top of the listings for each area. Please read them before posting an ad so there is no misunderstanding.

Policy uses affiliated links. The Federal Trade Commission requires that we disclose to you, the readers when we endorse a product or service and have a "material connection" to the seller. All links here are monetized by Viglink, you can opt-out here if you wish: click here to opt-out

It is BCSB's statement to provide a superior online experience for people interested in sportbikes and British Columbia, Canada. It is not possible to monitor all items on the site as the forum has a realtime nature, nor is it possible to judge those you may contact or associate with because of the site. Use your own judgment folks, BCSB is not liable for anything here, we're just providing you a service.
